A spectacular new event is landing in Derby this autumn — and it promises to light up the sky without a single bang.
The Space Safari Drone Light Show will take place on Saturday, 18th October 2025 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derby DE21 6DA.
This immersive evening show features hundreds of synchronised drones creating animations in the sky, set to a cinematic soundtrack and family-friendly storytelling. Instead of fireworks, it’s drones that form stars, animals, rockets and more.
What Makes It Special?
Over 500 drones in coordinated flight
Pet-friendly and sensory-friendly – no loud bangs or smoke
Eco-conscious – no debris or environmental damage
Food vendors, entertainment, and lights from 5pm onwards
Perfect for all ages – from toddlers to grandparents
The drone light finale is the highlight of the night, running for around 10 minutes, and will be part of a larger 45-minute immersive experience with lights, sounds, and atmosphere.
