About Us
Who We Are
Derbyshire.News is a fresh voice for local news — built by the people, for the people.
We’re an independent, community-focused media group created to bring real, trustworthy local journalism back to Derbyshire. Born out of frustration with the current state of local news — dominated by clickbait, endless ads, and corporate agendas — we’re doing things differently.
Why We Exist
For years, local media outlets like have drifted away from what truly matters to local people. In their place, aggressive headlines and poor user experiences have left readers disengaged and disillusioned.
At the same time, local stories still matter more than ever — and the appetite for them hasn’t disappeared. It’s just waiting to be served with the respect and relevance it deserves.
Our Roots
Over the past 14 years, we’ve built and grown some of the most-followed and engaged local social media pages across Derbyshire. These pages now rival and often outperform the region’s mainstream media on platforms like Facebook, and have become go-to spaces for trusted local updates.
We’ve combined this loyal audience with cutting-edge publishing tools and automation to create a full-scale digital news operation.
